Timbuktu Treasures is owned by Herb and Josey Casey. Herb is American and
Josey is originally from Brazil. From 2001 to 2003 we lived in Mali and visited many
cities and villages in the country. We were overwhelmed by the rich history and
beautiful creatIons. We researched quite a bit about the various African tribes in
Mali and other parts of West Africa to understand the significance of the tribal items.
Since African art is meant to be used in everyday life, we worked with some of these
artisans to create contemporary Items for everyday use.
Timbuktu Treasures sells handmade artifacts and jewelry. We have built close
relationships with villagers and craftsmen which allows us to bring you the highest
quality.
Since Josey is from Brazil, we also offer items from her home country from time to
time.
